The Market Raffle

Each month, our generous producers donate goods to provide a huge basket of goodies, usually valued around $100. The proceeds from this raffle go towards the running and promoting of the Markets, ensuring their sustainability. Each market, our valuable volunteers organise the goodies for the raffle and sell the raffle tickets.

The raffle is drawn at 11.30am and we endeavour to deliver the prize on the market day.

Winners from last two Markets:

August Market:

Congratulations Donna (who sells raffle tickets for the Cardinals Junior Football Clubs wood raffle) for winning the market raffle which consisted of produce and other “goodies” donated by the stall holders present, valued at over $100 – and it only cost her $1 to buy her ticket. Donna seemed well deserving of the win for she indicated sharing with several people. What a lovely gesture

The Cardinals Junior Football Club also ran a raffle for a trailer load of wood at the June Market and the winner of this valuable prize was Chris Hynes of Waterloo.

This raffle for the CJFC is finished for the rest of the year they will resume fundraising again next year 2011 from April to August

July Market:

One of our regular stall holders won the raffle this month Cheryl Rochester from Mumballup Pecans, Cheryl and Bernie sell those wonderfull Pecan kernels, pecan pieces, pecan chocolate and pecan brittle.

Cheryl and her raffle goodies donated by stall holders.

Volunteers Essential Part of Every Community

Without volunteers, communities throughout the world would not exist. A rather large claim perhaps but nonetheless true and the Boyanup   and Districts Farmer’s Market is no exception. Without the very generous support of the volunteer committee, Boyanup would not enjoy the friendly and welcome environment the markets offer.

Dorothy and June
To raise funds a number of fundraising activities are coordinated each month, which include the hamper raffle, sausage sizzle and sale of potatoes. With these funds the committee promotes the market, pays insurance and covers expenses such as the purchase of equipment and all essential items toward the running of an effective event.

New volunteers are needed so if you would like to help on any of the fundraising stalls, on either a regular basis or as a one off please contact 0448 806 833.
