The Market Raffle

Each month, our generous producers donate goods to provide a huge basket of goodies, usually valued around $100. The proceeds from this raffle go towards the running and promoting of the Markets, ensuring their sustainability. Each market, our valuable volunteers organise the goodies for the raffle and sell the raffle tickets.

The raffle is drawn at 11.30am and we endeavour to deliver the prize on the market day.

Winners from last two Markets:

February 28

The very worthy winner of February's raffle was none other than our own Dorothy, who volunteers at every market, cooking that delicious sausage sizzle.  Dorothy was thrilled to bits at taking home a large collection of goodies that made up February's raffle, once again thanks to our generous stall holders.

A delighted Dorothy with her booty!

January 24

The raffle was won by the Licciadello family from Karintha Orchards at Newlands. Richard was kept busy selling cherries. His 10 year old daughter Allanah was on hand to witness the drawing of the raffle and was delighted to be picked by Graham. You should have seen her eyes widen, getting bigger and bigger, as Mary loaded the huge range of booty into a box for her and she realised that it was 'all hers'. I gather she has already claimed the goodies as "hers" and was last seen plotting how to divide the treats among the family (completely ignoring the fact that it was dad who purchased the winning ticket). I gather Allanah has claimed tasty treats like cupcakes from the Cake Ladies and choc-chip cookies from Annie Suharno as hers, she was also covetting the pack of craft papers from Halcyon Steppe. Mum is going to get the coffee voucher and the meat packs from Blackwood Valley Beef and Cyprus Creek Lamb....If dad is lucky he will get his bags of cherries back!!

Volunteers Essential Part of Every Community

Without volunteers, communities throughout the world would not exist. A rather large claim perhaps but nonetheless true and the Boyanup   and Districts Farmer’s Market is no exception. Without the very generous support of the volunteer committee, Boyanup would not enjoy the friendly and welcome environment the markets offer.

To raise funds a number of fundraising activities are coordinated each month, which include the hamper raffle, sausage sizzle and sale of potatoes. With these funds the committee promotes the market, pays insurance and covers expenses such as the purchase of equipment and all essential items toward the running of an effective event.

New volunteers are needed so if you would like to help on any of the fundraising stalls, on either a regular basis or as a one off please contact 0448 806 833.
