One of the more welcome stall holders in the past two years has been our authentic French baker, Jean-Marie Jacob of FRE ~ JAC French Bakery, adding that “je ne sais quoi” to the Boyanup Farmers’ Market. Importing the ingredients used from France and using no preservatives, Jean–Marie creates a range of tasty breads and pastries that has his customers lining up for more! The range includes corn bread, multigrain, walnut bread, rye, baguettes, ciabatta and olive breads while his pastries include chocolate twist, chocolate croissant, plain croissant, pains au raisins (snail) and much more. Fre-Jac Restaurant and Bakery opened in August 2006 when former Parisians Roselyne and partner Jean-Marie decided to settle in the small town of Balingup. Roselyne is the restaurant chef and Jean-Marie bakes all the extremely popular French bread in the bakery. Jean-Marie said “Life is a little slower in Balingup than in Paris, but we are very happy with our move and are enjoying the lifestyle.” Jean-Marie loves the Markets and, as well as Boyanup, he attends markets at Margaret River, Vasse, Dunsborough and Kalamunda! Make sure that you call into Jean-Marie’s stall to say “Bon Jour” and pick up some delicious authentic French breads or pastries. |
